DestroyTwitter 2.0 Preview: Preferences canvas

Here’s a first glimpse at DestroyTwitter 2.0. Relating to yesterday’s post regarding preferences, I decided to segue into the Preferences canvas. In the current release, this canvas is a bit long-winded and claustrophobic. To combat these issues, I adopted an accordion layout where each set of preferences is expandable and collapsible. Not only does this clean up things a bit, but it also allows me to reuse components, which reduces memory. And finding new ways to reduce memory is like Christmas come early.
Looking good
Liking the look of it, it’s not as simple as the original one, but I think it would become a valuable addition to my work day :]
Loving this… can’t wait to test it.
No doubt it’ll be awesome. Keep up the great work dude \m/
Looking good. Can’t wait for the release.
DT 2 here we come!
Please don’t let there be mac close, maximise, and minimise buttons on the versions for other platforms like windows and linux. I hate it when air apps try and look like mac apps as when GUI widgets are not part of that platform they look frankly pants.
Looks awesome. Looking forward to release!
Sweet!
Nice!
Typically, the arrow is facing down when the “folder” is open, with it pointing to either side when it is closed. It might be useful to copy convention in this case, even though I see the logic in what you are doing here.
Hope the obscure (undocumented?) way of sending DM in DT1 improve uid wise.
@boom – I’m sure Jonnie just has his preference set to use the system chrome.
@jonnie – Good work man, keep it up. Glad to see a ‘Lists’ button on there. =]
Looking forward to it.
W00t indeed, looking forward to it!
Looks sweet! Make sure the hit-areas on those accordion buttons are large enough. It could be a pain otherwise. I can’t wait for the release!
@boom — The Mac window controls are only for OSX with the custom chrome.
@PlatinumTalon — The hit areas include the title as well as the triangle.
Sweet!!! DT FTW!!!
EU QUERO!!!! Looking forward to it…..
looks gay
This is looking incredible! I’ve tried other twitter clients and none of them are as functional or good looking as DT. Thanks for the hard work!
Very Nice !
I think a really cool feature for 2.0 would be if you could set the icon to not display in the taskbar in Windows. Similar to minitask. Because I leave my DestroyTwitter open all the time sitting on my desktop.
looing good
Love it. btw, noticed the images at the bottom… is this, per chance, a hint at multiple user accounts?
Looks great. Only suggestion I can think of is to maybe change that arrow to a horizontal line so it’s easier to visually distinguish between sectons.
Or will that be possible with skinning?
It’s really mind blowing. But some users cannot use this wonderful app without proxy setting. I know that tweetr can do those kind of stuff but the UI is not good as this one. So please take some consideration on the proxy features.
Cheers.
Awesome…. can’t wait for the final release!
Jonnie
Have you thought about including support for multiple accounts or is that a whole ‘nother league of difficulty?
@Steve — It is a whole ‘nother league of difficulty, but as you can see at the bottom of that screenshot, it’s possible
ah…it is visible now that I’ve finished my coffee. sweet!
